The Competition
Real cases. Real stakes.
Everything you need to know to take part — the format, who can compete, how you're judged, and what's on the line.
The essentials
Who competes, and how
High school students
Open to all high school students across Greater Vancouver. No prior case-competition experience required.
Four to six
Compete as a team of four to six delegates. Register with your own team, or ask to be placed.
Free entry
There is no entry fee. Financial accessibility is the reason Momentum exists.
Analyze & present
Break down a real-world business case, form a recommendation, and pitch it live to a judging panel.
Judging
Judged by professionals
Teams present to panels of professionals from across the business world — spanning finance, strategy, marketing, and operations. Judges assess the depth of your analysis, the clarity of your recommendation, and how convincingly you present it.
The emphasis is on thinking clearly under pressure and communicating with confidence — the skills that carry well beyond any single competition. Feedback from the panel is part of the experience, so every team leaves having learned something concrete.
Prizes
$1,000 cash + iPhone 17e
The winning team is rewarded for standout strategy and delivery — but the real prize is the experience every delegate takes home.
A $1,000 cash prize for the winning team, plus an iPhone 17e for each member.
Professional judging and feedback, youth speakers, networking, and a standout day — all free of charge.
